What is adhesion pull-off testing?

Adhesion pull-off testing — also known as a pull-off test, adhesion test, or bond strength test — is an on-site test used to measure the tensile force required to pull a bonded material away from its substrate. A circular dolly is bonded to the surface of the material under test. Once cured, a calibrated hydraulic pull-off tester applies a steadily increasing tensile load until the dolly detaches, recording the peak load at failure along with the mode of failure.
